NEW: See our Flash Deals page for much more deals that you'll love!

Welcome to our brand new series where we explain how to do more with your credit cards, and more importantly, how your credit cards can do more for you. From maximizing cashback to exploring options like no annual fee cards and travel rewards, let’s unlock the full potential of your wallet. First up, we’re zeroing in on how to earn the most cashback on your grocery shopping for Pesach.

We all know that Pesach groceries can cost a small fortune; the storage containers outside every supermarket tell you all you need to know about how much inventory these places go through over the next few weeks.

We set out looking for the best credit card for the average family to earn the most cashback on these specific purchases.

Time is precious this time of year, so we'll give you the quick answer first:

The Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card has one of the highest cash back rates at grocery stores with no annual fee and no spending cap. You can earn an unlimited 3% cash back at grocery stores for Pesach and all year round.

Don't even get us started on the amazing 10% cash back rate on Uber and UberEats - your wallets will thank us when it comes to those takeout orders once your kitchen is pesachdig.

Besides our top pick, here are some other great recommendations that can earn you high rewards on groceries:

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card:

  • Matches the 3X reward rate on online groceries, but comes with a $95 annual fee.
  • The card comes with many great benefits but our favorite is the 25% increase in value of your points when redeemed through Chase Travel℠. That means your 3X points can really be 3.75X when you utilize this feature.
  • If you spend $12,750+ on groceries annually, that difference alone offsets the cost of the annual fee, and allows you take advantage of the other benefits as well.
  • See our full write-up here.

Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express:

  • Has a fantastic 6% cash back rate at U.S. supermarkets, but spending per year is capped at $6,000 and then the cash back rate goes down to 1%.
  • It's definitely an option to use this card until you hit the $6K limit, but most families spend more and so make sure to keep tabs on how much exactly you have left before the rate drops.
  • Also, although this card has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year, the fee increases to $95 annually after that. See rates & fees.

American Express® Gold Card:

  • Also has a great rewards rate of 4X Membership Rewards Points at U.S. supermarkets and the spending cap goes up to $25,000 then you get 1X, but it comes with a hefty $250 annual fee. See rates & fees.
  • If the other card benefits will offset the annual fee, it's definitely a great option, but if it's just for supermarkets, the extra point per dollar may not be worth the fee.
  • For families that spend the full $25,000 limit at U.S. supermarkets annually, the additional point per dollar offsets the annual fee and allows you to take advantage of the other benefits of this card.

Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express:

  • Another match at the 3% cash back rate at U.S. supermarkets with no annual fee, but you only get the 3% rate on the first $6,000 spent, then you get 1%. See rates & fees.

All these cards can be great options, so choose what works best for you and your family, but if you want the most straightforward approach with no cost to you, the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card is the way to go. See our full write-up about this card here.
