If the $4,000 spend is in the eligible categories of supermarkets, dining, gas stations, airfaire, hotels, and travel agencies | or travel agencies, you also earn 3 points per $1 spend, bringing the total points after 3 months to 72,000, a $720 redeemable value on gift cards, travel, or Amazon.com. A $4,000 spend in non-eligible categories brings your total points at the end of the 3 months to $64,000, a $640 redeemable value on gift cards, travel, or Amazon.com. A combination spend with leave you with somewhere between a $640-$720 value.

If you spend $500+ on a hotel stays each year, the $100 discount is greater than the $95 annual fee.
If you spend $3,200+ annually on this card at supermarkets, gas stations, dining, airfare, hotels, and travel agencies | or travel agencies, the points redeemed on those categories alone is greater than the $95 annual fee, even without using the hotel benefit.
If you spend $9,500+ annually on this card on anything excluding the categories above the points redeemed cover the $95 annual fee, even without using the hotel benefit or the 3-point categories listed above.

The Fine Print:
You are only eligible for the bonus offer on this card if you haven't received a bonus for or closed a Citi Rewards+®, Citi ThankYou® Preferred, ThankYou® Premier/Citi Premier®, or Citi Prestige® card in the last 2 years. If you downgraded one of those cards, you are still eligible to receive the bonus if your card number remained the same. You can apply for this card even if you already have it since you are allowed to have multiple of the same card.
