Warm weather means lots more time spent outside! We are definitely ready for this.
Whether you have a backyard, the local park, or a summer home with lots of green space, here are some of the best outdoorsy items that are great for every age and stage.
Please note: Amazon prices fluctuate, the prices posted may differ from price at the time of reading.
Babies and Toddlers (around 1-3 years old)
Go for the
Classic Version and skip the stroller for a walk down the road or to the store. Moms and babies love it for the warmer months, city or country side! You'll find yourself reaching for it way more than the stroller, especially when your baby wants to be more alert and part of the action ;)
Have two little ones around? This
Twin Push Buggy cannot be beat, and is not that much heavier to push. Now the kiddos don't have to fight about who gets to sit in the buggy!
Get your little one using their balance and coordination skills on this
Sweet Wooden Bike made by Hape. Baby's very first bike :) They'll love making it go forward and back.
Babies and toddlers are obsessed with taking care of their toys, whether in a toy stroller or in a wagon, and this
Pint-Sized Wagon by Green Toys is perfect for tugging along.
This adorable Ride On Toy by Little Tikes is great for small but mighty legs pushing them forward. The high bar in the back can also be used to push and walk along. Great for little ones who are learning to walk and then run!
With simple installation, your little one can be swinging away in no time! One
Little Swing, hours of entertainment. So you don't have to constantly be shlepping to the park.
This
Little Tikes Slide has been around for ages, and tweaked over the years to be the perfect slide for indoor/outdoor use for a wide array of ages. There's just enough thrill to make the little ones want to go again and again.
Child-sized furniture makes kids feel so comfortable and at-home in their bodies. While its cute to have little dangling legs, this prevents kids from falling off benches, and leaves room for everyone at the table. Great to use for bbq's, kids activities, Shabbos parties, and on and on.
Young Movers (around 3-6 years old)
The
Radio Flyer Trike is a classic and so well made that you'll be passing it down from siblings, to cousins, to neighbors and beyond.
This
Wiggle Car uses wiggle power to move. Use feet to push and the power of gravity to keep this ride on toy moving.
Get kids accustomed to the skills needed to ride a bike with a pedal-less
Balance Bike. They'll kick off and lift their feet and learn how to keep a bike steady.
This
harness is great for when your child is ready to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels! Save your back, and keep your child confident knowing that you're holding them up (for the time being!) with this backpack style handle.
The
Micro brand is fabulous and sturdy, especially this three-wheeled version with a lengthening handle that will grow with your child. Kids will have to get used to the lean to steer technology instead of turning the handlebars. Minor pain point: it does not fold away for storage.
Let your little guy or girl practice their shoots with the Little Tikes Mini Basketball Hoop, great for backyards and even larger playrooms.
Growing Kids (6 and up)
Give the joy of roller blading to your kid with a pair of these
Adjustable Inline Skates. Kids love meeting a challenge and this one is awesome and doable. Just make sure to have the helmet and pads, too!
Now kids and parents are happy! This folding, two-wheel classic scooter from
Razor is a great way to zoom around. We have a feeling our kids will be using this all spring and summer long. Hot tip: Amazon seems to be selling it for a lot more at the moment, do your due diligence before purchasing!
And parents may have nightmares about. Just make sure there is lots of soft padding or grass around before your child takes it out for a spin, as there is a big learning curve on getting the hang of this one! You have been warned.
Go for a bounce around town in these bouncing
Kangaroo shoes.
A great gift item for those kids who love shooting hoops at the arcades or basketball court.
Family Finds
This Radio Flyer Wagon may not have the best tires on the market, but it's also one of the more affordable ones with lots of storage and space for pool toys, towels, snacks, drinks in the convenient cupholders, and even a few kids. You can unzip one side and lounge on it at the pool or beach as a bench. Not ideal for very hilly areas. But the removable shade is a definite plus!
This "Couch" has a wide mouth that fills up with air, and traps it to create a fun lounger for kids or adults.
You will need an air blower pump, but how fun would it be to just pull out a
Moon Bounce for your next birthday party, event, or warm day! Pro tip: chip in with a sibling or neighbor to make it even more cost effective.
And with the attached safety net you can breathe a little easier. Just be ready for the neighborhood kids to gravitate over towards your home :)
The little kids we know can spend hours playing with water. And with an
Outdoor Water Table you don't have to stress over every little splash and spill! Make sure you get one with a pump to keep the water and good times flowing.
We want the best for our little ones, but don't forget about your own rest and relaxation! Watch the kids from this
lounger to get ultimate in nachas and me-time, combined. Iced coffee not included!
We hope this helps you narrow down your search and make it easier to get the most bang for your buck this summer!
